Last October, as part of our mission to bring Brazilian handcrafted, sustainable & eco-friendly products to the UK market, Treasures of Brazil exhibited at Green Live, a new, live, free event, to inspire sustainable living.

The aim of this amazing event was to highlight over  80 ethical companies offering eco-friendly products and services in order to inspire people to live more sustainably.

As this is what we want to do through our company, it felt like the perfect event for us to really get our name out there and showcase the beautiful jewellery, bags and beauty products we have to offer, to a huge eco-conscious crowd.

Together with their London event, nearly half a million people attended and discovered a whole heap of new sustainable products and services first hand! It was fantastic to meet so many like-minded people, and to meet other business owners striving for the same goal.

Not only was this event a wonderful opportunity to spread the word about sustainable products and services available in the UK, but Green Live also partnered with Moretrees for the event to responsibly plant 25,000 carbon absorbing trees!

The event was sponsored by Citroen Electric Cars, the graphic panels and carpets used at the event were 100% recycled and the Green Live teams’ event uniform was made from EarthPositive® organic Indian cotton - pretty cool, huh?

What we learned at the event

GreenLive wasn’t just about selling our products, we also went to learn from others and take home some great tips to help us all to live more sustainably.

There were 2 stages with professional keynote speakers who delivered a wide range of seminars and product demonstrations.

A couple of our favourites include Beatrice Turner from Imperfect Sustainable Living. Beatrice is also from Brazil and gave a great talk about how to be a more sustainable parent and the challenges we face as parents trying to live more sustainably.

Gaia Ratazzi, originally from Italy and currently studying Environmental Management and Sustainability at Leeds University, explored the truth behind fast fashion, something we’re particularly interested in at Treasures of Brazil, focussing on what we can do to make better fashion choices.

Our event stand

We got to the event super early to get set up and we were so happy with the result!

There wasn’t a huge amount of space to display our gorgeous products but as you can see, we were able to display everything beautifully.

It didn’t take long for the crowds to start forming and we had a fabulous, successful day at the event!

Other appearances for Treasures of Brazil

Last October was a super busy month for us last year as we also attended the Best of Brazil Summit in London, which was a networking event dedicated to Brazilian business and culture.

And, as if that wasn’t enough, I was also a guest speaker on the Yayzy ‘A-yayZy of sustainability’ podcast talking about Fast Fashion and Jewellery. You can listen to the podcast here.

Phew! What a busy year we had. And we have lots more planned so make sure you’re following us on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date with our appearances.

Let me know what you think of the podcast!

Until next time,

Daiane x
