Let’s look at each of these a little more closely…
Patauá & Buriti Natural Oil
Patauá is the fruit of a palm tree from the Amazon, the Patauazeiro.
The Patauazeiro produces a high quality oil, widely used in local cuisine, medicinal purposes and especially for its beauty benefits.
The manufacturing process begins by removing pulp from the fruit, before it is dried out to prevent the bioactive properties from degrading.
The dried pulp is then cold pressed to obtain the oil, which is then filtered and stored in dark containers to preserve it.
Patauá oil is rich in antioxidant properties and omegas 3, 6 and 9, which help to hydrate dry skin, and make your hair beautifully shiny.
Buriti oil (pronounced burr-ree-chee), is an Amazonian oil sourced from the rainforests of Brazil, where it’s derived from the fruit of the Moriche Palm Tree, a tree Brazilians consider to be a ‘Tree of Life’.
Rich in fatty acids as well as vitamins A and E, Buriti Oil has strong hydrating properties. This makes it an ideal, natural ingredient for moisturising the skin and taming dry, frizzy hair.
Acai Natural Oil
Açaí is an Amazonian fruit, considered one of the richest foods in antioxidants and in vitamins A, D, E, K, B1, B2 and C, and minerals (iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc), amino acids and essential oils.
It's delicious and very nutritious!
Again, açaí oil is produced from the pulp of the açaí fruit.
Being rich in fatty acids (palmitic, omega 6 and 9), anthocyanins and vitamin E, açaí oil is full of antioxidant properties that help fight free radicals, preventing signs of ageing.
Used on hair, açaí oil nourishes, restores and repairs dull, damaged hair.
Castanha Natural Oil
Castanheira (also known as Brazil nut), is one of the best known trees in the Amazon region and plays an important role in the local economy.
It can reach 160 feet tall with a trunk of 3-6 feet in diameter. It can live for more than 500 years and a single tree can produce as much as 250 pounds of Brazil nuts in just one year!
The seeds (nuts) of the Brazil nut tree are extracted from the fruit and through them, the oil is extracted.
Brazil nut oil is rich in vitamins A and E, phytyl and linoleic acids and phytosterols. Another multifunctional oil, it can be used on both skin and on hair.
Benefits of Castanha (Brazil nut) oil:
- Treats dry or damaged skin
- Reduces signs of ageing
- Protects against acne
- Treats dry, brittle or damaged hair and creates shine
- Promotes a healthy scalp
- Encourages healthy hair growth and helps treat alopecia or male baldness by naturally affecting testosterone levels
