Our mission is to bring beautiful Brazilian handcrafted, sustainable & eco-friendly jewellery and accessories to the UK market, whilst supporting local, small communities in Brazil using sustainable materials sourced in the local area.
What is eco-friendly, sustainable jewellery?
In simple terms, eco-friendly, sustainable jewellery is made using sustainable materials, sourced responsibly, whilst having minimal impact on the environment and supporting workers in getting fair wages and safe working environments.
Why buy sustainable jewellery?
Why spend more on eco-friendly jewellery when you can get something similar much cheaper?
Because, you can’t get something similar much cheaper.
Our jewellery is hand-crafted and unique.
Cheap jewellery uses cheaper materials, which ultimately ends up in landfill, does’t biodegrade and can be harmful to the environment by releasing toxins to the atmosphere..
On the other hand, the sustainable products we sell are all handmade by small communities in Brazil using sustainable materials, such as grass, leaves and stones and are sourced in the local area.
The good news is that a recent study showed that more than 80% of consumers were looking to buy sustainable jewellery, over cheaper alternatives and were willing to pay more for it.
What sustainable materials do you use in your products?
Our products are hand made, mostly using the leaves and seeds of the Buriti tree, Golden Grass and natural Brazilian stones.
Using Buriti helps to boost small local communities in Brazil by creating a new source of jobs, and ensuring that forests and trees are worth more standing than cut.
Climate positive changes to Treasures of Brazil
Supporting local communities by bringing our sustainable, eco-friendly products to the UK market is amazing but we wanted to go one step further.
So, we’ve partnered with climate positive environmental organisation, Ecologi to help us to be climate positive.
This means that for every sale we make, a tree is responsibly planted in one of Ecologi’s reforestation projects in Madagascar, Mozambique, Kenya or Uganda.
How does planting trees help the environment?
Global temperatures are rising rapidly and the most powerful way to combat this is by planting trees.
Ecologi, together with Eden Reforestation Projects, responsibly plant millions of trees a month and you can contribute by buying our sustainable jewellery, handbags and accessories online.
